Clutter Clearing

Clutter Clearing Oak WhispersYour home should be a haven for your soul. It is a place that is there to nurture and support you, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

“Have nothing in your home that you do not believe to be beautiful or know to be useful” wrote William Morris over a century ago. This is all too true in today’s modern homes.

The energy of clutter is stagnant, unlike healthy energy which is in constant flow. Compare in your mind the image of a murky stagnant pond to that of a bubbling mountain stream and you will get a sense of the idea of stagnant and healthy energies.

At Oak Whispers I have seen the paralysing effect that living with clutter has on people’s lives. I have seen, first hand, miracles occur when people let go of ‘stuff’ that no longer enriches their lives “Out with the old, in with the new”, the saying goes. As you release the clutter blessings will rush into your life.

Using Feng Shui and Soul Coaching techniques I can help you identify your clutter and support you as you decide to let it go and move on.  I will not be physically packing your rubbish bags, but I will be helping you to take back the responsibility for your life and move forward into your dreams.

So how do we define clutter?

Clutter is something that you no longer use and that you do not love.

Consider the following questions:

  • Are you keeping it just in case?

If so you are projecting into the future a feeling of insecurity.

  • It was a present

If you don’t like it, it is diminishing your energy. Accept the lovely thought but get rid of the present!

When you give a gift, give it freely – don’t be attached to it.

  • It just needs to be fixed

Chances are it’s been lying in the bottom of a drawer for 6 months now. If it was important and valuable to you, you would have gotten it fixed by now.

  • It’s still as good as new

That’s because you’ve never used/worn it!!! Pass it on to someone who will appreciate it.

Places where clutter seems to accumulate:

Kitchen – This includes all the kitchen utensils purchased in the hope of becoming the next Masterchef. Used once they are now the reason the bulging cutlery drawer jams every time you try to open it.

Wardrobes – this is a website of its own. Take an honest look at the clothes in your wardrobe. Are there clothes you are holding onto that are not your size? BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF. Your clothes should make you look and feel fabulous. The colours should uplift and compliment you. Your clothes need to reflect who you are, and who you are becoming. Anything less than that is compromise and you are worth so much more than that.

Other forms of clutter:

There are other forms of clutter that may go unnoticed but are equally damaging to your wellbeing. These include:

  • A cluttered schedule
  • Inbox full of irrelevant emails
  • Names in your address book that you no longer engage with

And last but by no means least

  • HANDBAGS – Powerful women of the world have a look at all the stuff you carry around with you on a daily basis. Might this be symptomatic of your carrying too much in your life?

Just remember as long as there is clutter your subconscious mind knows that there is always something to be done. Having the clutter enables you to stay muddled- are you using your clutter as an excuse to not take action in some area of your life?

Finally, think of clutter as visual noise. Clearing it out enables you to focus and think more clearly.
